In an interview with the Journal du Net, Jérôme Cochet, President at Zalando.fr., spoke on the unique challenges for Zalando in France (English translation).
The challenge goes beyond the fact that French women have different tastes than the women of Zalando’s home market in Germany. They also have different preferences in the site navigation.
The interview reveals details on Zalando’s European strategy and illustrates their self-awareness. Besides France, Zalando is also represented in Holland, Italy and the UK.
Zalando launched in Austria this week with a local website. Switzerland is planned to have an own website available before the end of the month.
