Open source continues to be unterestimated by the established e-commerce players. Because even if no one says it aloud, Oxid and Magento, with their open source solutions, are positioning themselves head-to-head against Hybris and Intershop.
Earlier than expected, Magento is lobbing it’s first attack against Intershop & Co. with the publication of a spicy customer quote (“Magento gives me an opportunity to focus on marketing instead of solving technical issues”):
So IMHO, I see no reason for any(!) company to NOT choose Magento against a Hybris or an Intershop, seeing the plugins made by the community and the growing number of industrial partners and the fact that you are only one year and half really on your way."
Even if the Magento manoeuvre is pretty clear, it is interesting see when Intershop & Co will deem it necessary to settle the score.
