In the next days Exciting Commerce is at the TechCrunch50 Conference, so expect to see some direct blogging out of the Bay area!
Michael Arrington describes in advance of the event why he’s set up TechCrunch50 as the nemesis of the concurrent DEMO Conference – and why details on the participating startups won’t be disclosed before the event:
"We aren’t disclosing the names of the startups because we want the press to actually attend the event, not cover it from their office. We want them to hear the ooh’s and ahh’s (and maybe boo’s) from the audience first hand as they write their stories. We want them to actually participate. And based on last year’s coverage, the model works very well."
Last year several e-commerce startups participated (Ponoko, Crowdspirit, etc.). We’ll be seeing shortly if this year also cultivates one or the other Exciting Commerce Startup.
Aside from the front stage startups, a number of runner-ups will be demoing during the surrounding events. And these folks have been actively NOT trying to keep their plans a secret. If you’re interested: Gazaro, Keibi, Kultura, Minekey, Moonjee, Payoneer.
